Our Team

Ken Burns, PT, CSCS

Ken received his Physical Education/Exercise Science Bachelor's degree in 1990 and Physical Therapy degree in 1992 from California State University, Northridge. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the association's Orthopedic and Sports Sections. Ken is an orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) as awarded by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association and USA Cycling Level 1 Coach. Ken has attended numerous post-graduate physical therapy courses, including the year-long orthopedic manual therapy course in Folsom, CA. Ken applies an eclectic biomechanical and functional approach to treatment with each individual client.

Outside of the clinic, Ken enjoys competitive road and mountain bike racing, attempting to play guitar, hiking and spending time with his wife and extremely active son, Trevor.

Rose Chao-Burns, PT

Rose has refined her clinical skills for 15 years at Mills Health Center in San Mateo, CA, where she specialized in orthopedic and aquatic therapy. She received her Health Education degree and Physical Therapy degree from California State University, Northridge in 1992.

She has attended numerous post graduate orthopedic physical therapy courses, including the yearlong Australian manual therapy course in Hayward, CA. Her style of manual therapy is eclectic and she enjoys creating dynamic exercise programs with her patients.

Rose can be found doing co-op work at her son's preschool, as well as, running after him through the parks of San Carlos. She enjoys being outdoors, reading, cooking and retail therapy.

Beatriz Ramirez

Beatriz joined our Spectrum Orthopedic Sport Therapy Family in March 2007. She has worked through out the Bay Area in the medical administrative field for almost 10 years. She volunteers as a mentor with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program in San Francisco. Her active "little sister" and her enjoy outdoor activities, especially basketball. Working out allows her to stay in shape to keep up with her.

She also participates in an Aztec dancing group with some of her family members. Aside from the dancing group, Beatriz spends a lot of her time with her family and loved ones. She especially enjoys traveling and seeing new places, and if it's a tropical beach, even better!
